Sesame Prawns Recipe

The succulent meat of sesame prawns is a delectable meal that explodes with taste with each bite. It just takes a few minutes to produce this dish, which is straightforward to make. This recipe simply needs a few basic items to prepare. This is a quick and simple dish that you can cook again and again if you enjoy prawns. Olive oil, rice wine vinegar, and soy sauce give this meal its delicious tastes. It goes well with steaming sticky rice or fried rice because of its sweet and tangy taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds.
  2. Add the prawns to the marinade and toss to coat thoroughly.
  3. Let the prawns marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water until a smooth paste forms.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Working in batches, dredge the prawns in the cornstarch mixture and add them to the skillet.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Transfer the prawns to a serving platter and garnish with the remaining sesame seeds.
  9. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Tips:

  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • If you don’t have honey, you can substitute with maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • If you don’t have toasted sesame seeds, you can use raw sesame seeds.
  • To make this dish even more flavorful, you can add a tablespoon of grated orange zest to the marinade.
  • Sesame prawns are best served immediately, but they can also be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
